Where It All Started

Hi, I’m Alica (pronounced uh-LISH-uh), the proud owner and lead photographer behind Sweet Ginger Photography and Catalyst Creative Studio. Since starting my business in 2016, I’ve been honored to capture life’s most cherished moments through family, wedding, and portrait photography — all focused on authenticity and emotion.

In 2025, I expanded by opening my own studio, Catalyst Creative Studio, a creative space where I also support and collaborate with other small businesses. This expansion fulfills my passion for building a vibrant community of entrepreneurs.

My journey into professional photography began with a love for preserving memories and quickly grew through dedicated study and hands-on experience. What started as a hobby has blossomed into a trusted business, capturing countless families, couples, and special moments every year.

As a mom, wife, and entrepreneur, I balance running Sweet Ginger Photography and Catalyst Creative Studio with being a devoted mother to my two wonderful children. I take great pride in offering a personalized, relaxed, and fun photography experience — one that truly celebrates you and your story.

I try to make the best out of every situation and I try to bring so much positivity to life. I am always most happy creating, anything really, or spending time with my family. I care about the people in my life immensely. 

I hold many roles in my life, but among the most important are mother, sister, aunt, daughter. I have two children, Sophia & Holden, whom I adore! They are a huge motivation for my business and the main motivator to ditch the 9-5 job and spend more time being there for them through all their important moments.

I’m often described as having a calm, approachable energy, and I truly enjoy connecting with clients on a deeper level. Whether it’s celebrating milestones like graduations, weddings, or welcoming a new baby, I aim to build lasting relationships both in my life and my business.

The beach is my happy place, where the sound of the waves and feeling the sand beneath my toes helps me feel grounded. I also have a deep love for exploring new places and experiencing the world, embracing the wanderlust lifestyle whenever I can.
