Where It All Started

Hello, my name is Alica [Pronounced uh-lish-uh] and welcome to Sweet Ginger Photography!

I am the owner and sole photographer for Sweet Ginger Photography, established in 2016. I started this business as a hobby well before this time and am so thrilled with how much it has grown. Photography has always been an interest of mine and photographs themselves are mementos I often go back to.

In 2015, I decided to take my hobby one step further and pursue coursework in the field, refine my skills, and take a much stronger interest in photographing people. Friends and family were some of the first clients I photographed; as those photos were shared, my business continued to grow. I now photograph countless families and weddings in a given year.

I run this business part-time as I am still primarily focused on being a stay-at-home mother to my two children, ages 6 and 3.

I am rocking the MOM-WIFE-BOSS lifestyle, and I would not have it any other way!

I try to make the best out of every situation and I try to bring so much positivity to life. I am always most happy creating, anything really, or spending time with my family. I care about the people in my life immensely. 

I hold many roles in my life, but among the most important are mother, sister, aunt, daughter. I have two children, Sophia & Holden, whom I adore! They are a huge motivation for my business and the main motivator to ditch the 9-5 job and spend more time being there for them through all their important moments.

I am often described as a calm energy to be around! Once you get to know me I love breaking past the small talk and having real conversations, which is why I love working with clients from all stages of life. It gives me the opportunity to get to know you from graduation, getting married and having babies; I want to be there for it all and create a lasting relationship. 

I have many interests. However, they all come back to one common theme-- CREATOR. I enjoy doing any activity that allows me to be creative, and if there is a particular craft you have in mind, I have probably tried it at least once. They say there are two hobbies- doing the crafts and buying things to do the crafts, and this is also 100% me. What can I say?! There is not enough time in the day to do everything I want to do! 

The beach is one of my favorite places in life, there is nothing like listening to the waves crashing and feeling the sand in your toes; this is the spot I feel most at peace. 

I love going to new places and trying new things; the wanderlust life calls for me often. 

I am an avid ice cream fan and eat far too much of it.
